I'M A CELEBRITY... GET ME OUT OF HERE!
Gwrych Castle has been the host to ITV’s ’I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here’ for two consecutive years. The 20th series of the show was one of the most watched TV shows of 2020 with the public falling in love with the haunting charm of Gwrych Castle and the spectacular surroundings of Abergele.
ITV may have filmed in North Wales instead of Australia due to the coronavirus pandemic, but producers ensured that the set had similarity’s such as the iconic red phone box and the campfire for celebs to sit around and to cook on, but it was surrounded by stone instead of greenery.
Gwrych Castle’s courtyard was the main outdoor area for the celebrities, this is where the celebrities could do their chores and have access to the Telegraph. The courtyard was also home to the privy which replaced the ‘dunny’ used in the Australian set.
